A few years ago, a medical device customer contacted XY-Global with a new project. At that time, the product was still in the early design stage. The customer already had drawings and basic requirements, but several details still needed to be tested, adjusted, and improved before the parts could move toward production.
Although the parts looked simple at first, the actual requirements were not easy. Some dimensions required tight tolerance control, some surfaces needed to remain stable after surface treatment, and the final parts had to meet the consistency expectations of medical equipment applications.
During the prototype stage, our team worked closely with the customer’s engineers. We reviewed the drawings, discussed the difficult machining areas, and provided DFM suggestions to improve manufacturability. In the following sample runs, we also adjusted the machining process to reduce deformation and improve assembly fit.
After several rounds of testing and improvement, the project gradually moved from prototype testing to small-batch production, and later into stable mass production.
