Team Trip to Guangzhou: Packing Summer into Fruit Baskets and Paddling

On July 24, our team left Shenzhen and traveled about two hours by bus to Conghua, Guangzhou.

It was the height of summer. The sky was bright blue, with white clouds stretching across the distance. The sun was already strong, and the heat greeted us as soon as we stepped outside.

It was hot and sunny, but that did not affect anyone’s excitement.

On a normal workday, we discuss drawings, follow up on projects, manage production, and solve problems together. On this day, we put our computers and schedules aside, walked into the orchards, and enjoyed a different kind of summer day as a team.

Starting the Day in the Orchards

Our first stop was the dragon fruit orchard.

Bright red dragon fruits hung from thick green branches and stood out clearly under the strong summer sun. The red fruit, green tips, blue sky, and white clouds came together in a scene full of fresh and vivid summer colors.

We walked between the rows, checking which fruits were ready to pick. Some carefully cut the ripe dragon fruits from the branches, while others helped hold the branches, collect the fruit, or carry the baskets.

The weather was hot, and it did not take long for everyone to start sweating. Even so, the orchard was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of photos capturing the moment.

After finishing in the dragon fruit orchard, we moved on to the passion fruit vines in twos and threes.

The thick leaves offered some shade from the strong sun. Passion fruit vines stretched across the frames above us, with round fruits hidden between layers of green leaves. Some were still green and felt hard to the touch, while others had turned yellow-green and were ready to pick.

We walked slowly along the vines, moving the leaves aside and looking for the ripest and fullest fruit. Some people focused on finding the fruit, some helped move the vines, some collected the freshly picked passion fruit, and others carried the baskets as they became heavier.

Before long, our baskets were filled with dragon fruits and passion fruits.

But the laughter we shared along the way was an even bigger part of the harvest.

At work, we are used to working as a team. One person may spot a problem, another may study the cause, someone else may coordinate the resources, and another team member may make sure the solution moves forward.

That same teamwork appeared naturally in the orchards. Some people helped carry the fruit baskets, some passed around drinking water, and others reminded their teammates to watch their steps and avoid the low branches.

There was no need for special instructions. When people truly know and trust each other, helping one another becomes a natural habit.

A Bamboo Rice Lunch Full of Warmth

After the fruit picking, we sat down together to enjoy a local specialty: bamboo rice.

As each bamboo tube was opened, warm steam rose with a light bamboo fragrance. The rice had absorbed the flavor of the other ingredients and carried a fresh, natural aroma. The table was also filled with local dishes, and after a busy morning, everyone was more than ready for lunch.

Some people shared funny moments from the orchard, while others showed off the fruit they had picked. Good dishes were passed around the table so that everyone could have a taste.

Our usual workday lunches often include discussions about project schedules and customer requirements. This lunch was different. There were no meetings and no tasks to finish. We simply sat together, enjoyed the food, talked freely, and shared a few easy and happy moments.

Company culture is not only something written on an office wall.

It can also be found around a warm lunch table. It is in the simple act of passing someone a bottle of water, sharing a dish, and taking care of the people around us.

Into the Water, Where Summer Really Began

The sun was still strong in the afternoon when the paddleboarding activity began.

Compared with the hot air on shore, the water looked especially cool and inviting. The blue sky and white clouds were reflected on the surface, while a light breeze helped ease the afternoon heat.

We put on our life jackets, picked up our paddles, and slowly made our way onto the boards.

At first, some people focused carefully on keeping their balance. Others chose to sit down and get used to the movement of the water. Once they felt more comfortable, they slowly tried to stand.

The boards moved gently with every change in position, so everyone watched out for one another. When someone lost balance, a teammate helped steady the board. When someone fell into the water, others quickly reached out and helped them climb back on.

Before long, the water was filled with splashes and laughter.

Gradually, the boards became steadier and started moving forward. Paddles entered the water and left soft circles behind. Some people paddled farther out, some moved side by side with their teammates, while others sat on their boards with their feet in the cool water, enjoying the breeze.

The sunlight sparkled across the surface. Drops of water landed on our arms and faces, washing away the afternoon heat.

Out on the water, job titles and departments did not matter.

We were simply teammates learning together, moving forward together, and helping one another stay balanced.

Paddleboarding may look like an individual activity, but it has a lot in common with our daily work. Moving forward requires us to find our own rhythm, but it also means paying attention to the people around us. When someone loses balance, the team does not stand by and watch. We reach out and help them get back on their feet.

Working Hard and Living Fully

Every quotation, engineering update, and finished product that a customer receives is never the work of just one person. It comes from the combined effort of our sales, engineering, purchasing, production, quality, and project management teams.

Paddling in the Same Direction

At the end of the day, our baskets were filled with passion fruits and dragon fruits picked by hand. Our cameras were filled with smiling faces, splashing water, and moments when one teammate naturally reached out to help another.

The summer weather was hot, and the sun was strong. But that is also what made the memories of the day feel so real and clear.

We work in different roles, with different skills and personalities, but we are always moving toward the same goal.

Just like the paddleboards on the water, sometimes one person moves faster, sometimes another moves more slowly, and sometimes someone may lose balance for a moment. But when we look out for one another and keep the same direction, we can move more steadily and go much further together.
